Matt Cassel and Paris Hilton. Upon first glance you may not think the two are similar, but do they share more in common then you may think? Absolutely they do. Now lets make this clear, this is in no way centered around Ms.Hilton, she is but a mere tool in my quest to shed some light on who Matt Cassel is. The relationship between these two is this. Inheritance. Paris, the daughter of Richard Hilton ( Hilton Hotels ) reaps the benefits of the hard work of her family before her, namely her grandfather, Barron Hilton. Paris walked into life with everything she could ever want, laid out before her. That as we know, remained consistent into her adult years. Matt Cassel, is in a very similar situation. His inheritance? How about an football team coming off a 16-0 regular season that is completely loaded at almost every position on the field. Matt has the luxury of a Randy Moss ( Lamborghini in Paris's case ) Wes Welker ( Paris's Bentley, I'm guessing she probably has one ) and one of the best offensive lines in football ( Lets say the equivalent to Paris's upscale New York apartment )

I'm betting you've probably had it with the Hilton talk, so I'll assume you see what I'm getting at. Matt Cassel, although not as talented as his predisesor, Tom Brady, still with all that he is surrounded by, he can succeed in the NFL. He's given tools that most other quarterbacks in the league don't have at their disposals. After not starting a single game at the University of Southern California where he attended college, and obviously not starting with the Patriots who drafted him in the 7th round of the 2005 NFL draft, Tom Brady tears his ACL and MCL in the first game of the 2008 season, and Cassel walks right into one of the most high profile starting positions in all of sports with unlimited possibilities. How he will fair this year is to be determined, but thus far. His team has won both of their games, and he's yet to make a mistake, greatly propped up by the talent of those surrounding him. But unlike Paris Hilton, Matt Cassel has worked virtually his whole life to prepared for this very moment, so lets given him some credit! I don't believe Paris has worked a whole day in her life for....I don't think Paris has worked a whole day in her life...? No punch line.
